How to connect laptop to wifi?

I brought my laptop to my dads house and im trying to connect it to the internet. I already connected it to the network (home wifi) put in the password and all that. Im connected but the internet wont work. there are 3 other computers in the house on the 'home wifi' network and their internet is fine. how do i get the internet to my laptop? does it have to be connected somehow to the router here? if so please tell how! please help! please and thank you!
